SÁMI PEOPLE

We went to an area around Åre to meet Sámi people. Sámis are indigenous people who are living around Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. They are the only indigenous people of Scandinavia recognized and protected under the international conventions of indigenous peoples. They keep reindeers, have their own language and have some older living habits even though they have TV and electricity.
