SURSTRÖMMING

If you go to Sweden, you should've at least tried Surströmming. It is a type of fermented Baltic Sea herring which has an enormous (awful) smell. The can is not allowed to be opened inside (or at least I do not suggest to open it inside. The herring has a strong taste and I remember still tasting it the day after.
