This weekend, my parents came to visit me. It was a wonderful reunion. I had some ideas about activities and so we did some of them!
Friday evening my parents arrived at their apartment. We met there and after some talk and exchanging objects they had brought along, we went to eat some pizza and lasagna in an Italian restaurant.
On Saturday we met in the morning at my corridor. I showed my parents how I live and they didn't really like the idea of the (dirty) shared kitchen. I had asked them to bring along some stuff I could hang up in my room and so they did. A wallpaper of a lynx, one of the Mona Lise - grumpy cat version and a big world map. They gave me 6kgs of CHOCOLATE?!?! #justbelgianthings I will definitely share with my corridor mates! We ate some croque monsieur together and went walking to the university. We passed the Linköping golf terrain where my mom found a golf ball next to the road. After having a small visit to the huge university, we went to Gamla Linköping, the old city of Linköping, where we had some fika (=coffee break) with the corresponding Swedish pastry! After the break, went to the city centre by bus and did some shopping and walking around. We went home and ate kyckling med potatis och äppelmos!
The last day, Sunday, we went to IKEA to buy a plant for my room (which had become Rosemary) and to have a good meal. Next, we walked 4 kilometers to the 2nd biggest lake in Sweden, Roxen. The worst part was getting back, because there wasn't too much to see actually, except from farms and nothing... The energy we used, was absorbed 3 times by going for a large buffet in Chili & Wok.
Overall I had an amazing weekend with my parents. I will see my brother when I come back in June.
