STOCKHOLM

A two day visit in Stockholm together with my girlfriend! Last week there was the incident of the truck that killed people in the shopping streets of Stockholm. We were very happy to not be there at that time.

We took the train from Linköping to Stockholm. In about 3 hours we arrived in the center of the capital of Sweden. Firstly we went to the Town Hall where we got an delightful lunch. We sat down for 10 seconds and noticed there was a Flamish family sitting next to us. We had a little talk with them and they were very kind to us. This was really funny! What are the odds? We went further and walked in the shopping streets where there was a quiet atmosphere. There were flowers everywhere. It really made me shiver to know somewhere here was the place of death of several people.

After the shopping streets and spending a full hour getting a new black pants for my girl we went to the old town, Gamla Stockholm. The old town was cosy but everything was pretty expensive and touristic. Gamla Linköping is cozier and has a more open and neighborly atmosphere. We were so hungry looking for a reasonable place to eat which was not too much of a commercial fast food restaurant. So we ate very good pizza (kind of not fast food haha) on our way back to the Airbnb in a cosy little restaurant.

The next day we took the boat which took us to the other side of the water. There we went to the ABBA museum which was incredibly good, against my expectations. They own the dress of Conchita Wurst and had a lot of activities you could be part of; Singing, playing dj, dancing, quiz, ... The wax statues looked real and believable. After the ABBA museum, we also visited the Nordic Museum which was also interesting. They had a lot of stuff that I already knew such as Sami's.

Afterwards we went to McDonald's and got back by train! It was a wonderful trip.
